Judith McKay

Judith McKay joined Lloyd’s Register EMEA in 2007 after six years working for BMT Defence Services Ltd.

Judith is assigned to the NSASS team as a Project Specialist. Her role involves supporting the development and application of the necessary systems and processes and working with all stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the service and the delivery of NSASS tasks.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Lloyd's Register EMEA's Naval Liaison Office, Judith carries out a range of consultancy, project management and support work for the UK MoD, including development work for the Naval Ship Rules and Naval Ship Code and secretariat support to INSA.

Judith has worked on a variety of ship and submarine design and support projects, often working closely with the MoD. She worked for the Aircraft Carrier Alliance in the area of Project Standards for 18 months; a role that included the selection and tailoring of engineering standards for the QEC project. She has also been involved in a variety of A&A and minor trial pack documentation, feasibility studies and DefStan and BR standards review and update work.

Judith graduated from the University of the West of England with an MEng in Mechanical Engineering in 2002. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers and aims to become chartered in 2012.

Judith enjoys walking and spends some of her spare weekends on the Mendips with her young family. She also enjoys travelling and is currently learning Italian, with the aim of spending more holidays exploring Italy in the future.
