Simon Hindley

Simon Hindley joined BMT in 2007 after graduating from The University Southampton. He was sponsored by BMT during his studies and enjoyed summer placements at BMT Reliability Consultants Ltd and BMT SeaTech.

Simon is assigned to the NSASS team as a Project Specialist. His role involves supporting the development and application of the necessary systems and processes and working with all stakeholders to ensure the smooth running of the service and the delivery of NSASS tasks.

As a Naval Architect in BMT’s Technical Assurance team, Simon’s key role is to support the wide variety of projects that come into the office from escape and evacuation analysis, stability reviews and updating documentation and standards he is also actively engaged in R & D.

Simon is a Graduate Member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects and is on his way to chartered status which he expects to achieve in 2010. His qualifications include a 2.1 MEng (Hons) Ship Science. He has been co-author of a published paper, covering the subject of tidal energy.

During his spare time, Simon is a keen sailor racing J24 class yachts at international level and is currently campaigning for the World Championships. Simon has also started windsurfing which he enjoys tremendously.
